Yes, guests can enjoy an incredible outdoor, cliffside infinity pool overlooking McLemore Cove and the surrounding mountains. Take an invigorating swim or just relax in the sun while enjoying a craft cocktail from the poolside Sky Bar. A limited number of poolside Cabanas are available for a fee. Luggage storage is available but may be limited based on demand.

Will there be a hold placed on funds if I use a debit card?

Yes, we place a hold for the room and tax + $200 per day for incidentals. It may take 7–10 business days after departure for the authorization to be returned to your bank account.

Can I have flowers, chocolates, champagne, or gifts sent to a room?

We will be happy to arrange for something special to be sent to a guest room. Please speak to one of our team members for more information.

What airport should I fly into when visiting Cloudland?

The Chattanooga Airport is the closest and most convenient airport for our guests.

Directions from Chattanooga Airport:

Take TN-153 S - 3 min (1.2 mi).

Continue on TN-153 S. Take I-75 S to GA-146 W/Cloud Springs Rd in Catoosa County.

Take exit 353 from I-75 S - 7 min (6.8 miles).

Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto GA-146 W/Cloud Springs Rd - 8 min (4.4 miles).

Continue on Lafayette Rd to GA-2 W/Battlefield Pkwy - 2 min (1.0 miles). Keep left to continue on GA-2 W/Battlefield Pkwy - 6 min (4.2 miles).

Do you offer free shuttle service from the airport?

No, we do not offer an airport shuttle. There are rental cars, taxis, and ride-share options readily available at the airport.

Auld Alliance adheres to the following dress code - Refined casual attire is recommended for ladies and gentlemen. Jackets are suggested for gentlemen, but not required. Well-kept denim is acceptable.

Poolside and relaxed casual attire (loungewear and activewear) are not permitted within the restaurant.

The Highlands course is just steps from the hotel and The Keep is a short five-minute drive.

Do I have to be a guest to play the courses at McLemore?

How long does it take to play the courses?

A typical round at McLemore takes approximately four and a half hours.

Are carts required?

Yes, carts are required and our pricing is inclusive of the cart fee.

What is the golf dress code?

Gentlemen must wear shirts with collars and sleeves tucked in at all times. Slacks or shorts of mid-thigh length are considered suitable (denim, cut-off shorts, gym shorts, warm-up pants, cargo shorts, or slacks with pockets on the outside of the pant leg are not suitable). Hats must be worn with bills facing forward and must be removed in any indoor dining facility.

Ladies must wear collared shirts and both sleeve and sleeveless styles are acceptable. Tee shirts, tank tops, halter tops, and tight-fitting athletic shirts are not permitted. Slacks, shorts, skirts, or skorts are considered suitable as long as they fall below fingertips when standing (denim, dresses, athletic pants—i.e. exercise/yoga/warm-up pants—are not suitable).

What kind of spikes are recommended?

Soft spikes are recommended.

Are caddies available?

No.

Can I ship my clubs to Cloudland before I arrive?

Yes. Please send to the hotel address: 243 Cloudland Drive, Rising Fawn, Georgia 30738. Don’t forget to include your full name and arrival date on the shipping label.

What is the cancellation policy for golf?

CLOUDLAND GUEST OF McLEMORE RESORT TIME BOOKING POLICY
The McLemore Resort and Cloudland Hotel seek to provide ample opportunity for all resort guests to enjoy golfing on our world-class courses. With tee times highly in demand, the McLemore Golf Resort requires full payment of greens fees when the tee time is initially booked if inside 30 days of arrival/tee time; tee times made outside of 30 days of arrival must be fully paid for by the 30th day prior to arrival/tee time. Additionally, we require guests who wish to cancel or alter their tee times to do so at least 30 days prior to their scheduled arrival.

CLOUDLAND GUEST OF McLEMORE RESORT CANCELLATION POLICY
McLemore Golf Resort requires guests who wish to cancel or alter their tee times to do so at least 30 days prior to their scheduled arrival.

If a tee time is cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival, the guest will receive a golf credit in the amount of fees paid to date at the time of cancellation. This golf credit remains valid for 24 months from date of cancellation.

If a tee time is cancelled on or within 30 days of their arrival, the cancellation will result in a full charge of the golf round(s); this full charge will be available as a golf credit and will remain valid for 24 months from the date of cancellation.

REFUNDS
McLemore Golf Resort will only issue refunds to players affected by inclement weather during times which the course is closed to play by management. Guests choosing not to play during inclement weather when the course remains open will not receive a refund.

Is there a driving range available?

Yes. Fees are included in the daily greens fees.

Is there a practice putting green available?

Yes.

Are there rental clubs available?

Yes. We have left and right-handed clubs available for rent at the Highlands Course Pro Shop at 800-329-8154. Please reserve in advance.

Are there running/hiking trails near the hotel?

Yes.

CLOUDLAND CANYON STATE PARK
Backpacker Magazine designated Cloudland Canyon one of the top 20 hiking destinations in the country. The rugged geology of the trail system includes waterfalls, caves, and 1000-foot sandstone cliffs. The park trails are accessible for both day hikers and backpackers. The trail system now connects the Cloudland Canyon Connector Trail system and the Lula Lake Land Trust, adding an additional 40 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails.

LITTLE RIVER CANYON NATIONAL PRESERVE/PARK
Little River Canyon National Preserve is a United States National Preserve located on top of Lookout Mountain near Fort Payne, Alabama, and DeSoto State Park. Created by an Act of Congress in 1992, the 15,288-acre (6,187 ha) preserve protects what is sometimes said to be the nation’s longest mountaintop river, the Little River. The Little River flows for almost its entire length along the middle of Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama. Over eons of geologic time, Little River has carved out one of the Southeast’s deepest canyons as it winds its way from headwaters in Georgia before exiting the mountain and emptying into the Coosa River (Weiss Lake impoundment) near Leesburg, Alabama. Legend has it that a minor Civil War skirmish occurred on the rim.

McLemore Cove is named after Robert and John McLemore, sons of a white trader and a Cherokee mother. Along with its scenic beauty, McLemore Cove is known for antebellum structures, vast farmlands, and houses dating back to the 1890’s. See this marvel of mother nature for yourself. The cove is located about three miles south of Chickamauga, in an area roughly bounded by Lookout and Pigeon Mountain.

DeSOTO STATE PARK
DeSoto State Park protects some of the most unique ecosystems in the United States. The Little River, the west fork of which flows through the park, is one of the only rivers in the world that flows almost entirely on a mountaintop. DeSoto State Park also offers miles of hiking trails, beautiful bluffs and rock formations, and a number of small waterfalls.
