The Highlands

18 HOLE MOUNTAINTOP COURSE
Perched 2,300 feet above sea level, this dramatic cliff-edge par 71 course was designed by acclaimed course architects Rees Jones and Bill Bergin. The 7,055 yard championship layout features a stunning variety of strategic holes and breathtaking vistas. This award-winning course is a golfing experience above the rest. The Keep

18 HOLE COURSE OPENING SPRING 2024
Situated on the eastern cliff edge of Lookout Mountain, The Keep is designed as a walkable mountaintop golf experience. Laid out by legendary architects Bill Bergin and Rees Jones, Jones commented during the 2021 U.S. Open that The Keep, “could host a major.” Scheduled to open in Spring of 2024, The Keep is sure to be one of the most scenic and enjoyable courses to play in the country.

The Cairn Course at McLemore

6 HOLE SHORT COURSE
The Cairn Short Course is one of the several jewels in the crown of McLemore. Designed by Bill Bergin, The Cairn rests on the north side of the Clubhouse and overlooks the dramatic and award-winning 18th hole on the Highlands Course. This is a fun outing for the family or for tuning up your short game.

Two legendary architects

Rees Jones and Bill Bergin are the masterminds behind the McLemore golf experience, each bringing his own unique set of skills to the topography of Lookout Mountain.

Bill Bergin

As a professional golfer, Bill played in more than 250 professional tournaments worldwide, including three U.S. Opens, two British Opens, and more than 50 PGA Tour events. Bergin has been recognized and awarded nationally for his innovative golf course designs including The Club at Foxland Harbor, Oaks Country Club, Chariot Run, Justin Timperlake’s Mirmichi, and Chattanooga Golf & Country Club.

Rees Jones

Rees Jones

Rees Jones has designed more than 225 golf courses in his career including seven U.S. Open venues, eight PGA Championship courses, five Ryder Cup and two Walker Cup sites, as well as the President’s Cup at the Montreal Golf Club. His most notable original designs include the Nantucket Golf Club, Atlanta Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, RedStick Golf Club, Ocean Forest Golf Club, Haig Point Club, Waldorf Astoria Golf Club, The Bridge and Cascata Golf Course.
